Hay sorpresas y caras conocidas entre los 398 nuevos invitados a formar parte de la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas, quienes nominan y eligen a los representantes de los Oscars. Entre ellos, están incluidos 76 nominados y 22 ganadores.
Para ser invitado a la Academia, debes haber sido nominado al Oscar anteriormente, estar en las listas de pre selección o si formar parte de una película nominada.
Ke Huy Quan, quien ganó el premio al Mejor Actor de Reparto este año por ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, y la coprotagonista Stephanie Hsu, quien fue nominada a Mejor Actriz de Reparto, fueron invitados a unirse. Así como Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert, los que ganaron las estatuillas Mejor Director y Mejor Guión Original.
A un año de protagonizar ‘Lightyear’ de Pixar y ‘Nope’ de Jordan Peele, Keke Palmer también fue invitada. Austin Butler, uno de los favoritos a ganar a Mejor Actor por ‘Elvis’, también fue invitado a participar.
Los ganadores del Grammy, Taylor Swift y The Weeknd, fueron invitados a la rama musical de la Academia. Swift escribió e interpretó Carolina para ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, dirigió ‘All Too Well: The Short Film’ y está lista para hacer su debut como directora de largometrajes para Searchlight Pictures.
